Progressive Painting

This painting is not my usual style!  My mother always asks me "Why can't you just paint a landscape?".  If you've ever seen my paintings, you know landscapes just aren't my thing!  But, funky paintings are...so, as a Christmas gift for my dear mother...a funky landscape!  I wanted you to see the progress so the pictures posted begin with the background and show the progression through the process to the conclusion.  I really enjoyed painting in this way so I may do more!

And finally, the finished painting!

Oh, this is fun, Sunny! LOVE your fanciful, funky landscape! I'd love to live in that place. ;o) It's interesting once-upon-a-time, many years ago, in a land far away, I used to do more representation painting--"traditional" landscapes, still life vignettes, etc. But now I'm doing more abstract-expressionism rich with symbolism--I'm having the best time painting now than ever!

Love this Sunny! Love the wonderful colors!! Hey I was wondering are you going to be selling any little bags like the one you had from the giveaway. I am looking for something special for Nelly and I think she would really love that. Let me know. Hopefully she doesn't see this.

I must admit I like the first stage of the painting best!

My mother loves still life painting. We must do what moves us.

Do pop by and say hi!

oh neat! I love all the colors! I did a painting using a similar technique...inspired by Flora Bowley, actually. Just finished it...I will post it soon! :)
